Case Studies
Here are a few case studies of recently-completed projects:
Greno Woods (Sheffield Wildlife Trust)

The Sheffield Wildlife Trust contacted us with a brief for a new website to act as a fundraising platform for their new venture, the purchase of Greno Woods, in the north of Sheffield.
They required us to:
- Create a unique graphic design, which conformed to the Wildlife Trust’s Branding Guidelines
- Build a website which was 100% content-managed
- Build a website which was W3C standards-compliant, and which met Accessibility guidelines
- Incorporate the ability to take donations on-line, by linking to the Virgin Money charity donations portal
- Incorporate the ability to encourage visitors to join as Members of the Wildlife Trust.
- Enable the website to show the current level of fundraising, in graphical form.
- Provide website hosting and e-mail services.
“It’s been brilliant working with CK Services again. They are great at finding swift solutions to tricky technical issues and I’m particularly impressed that they created everything we needed by my very short deadline.”
Julie Gough, Marketing and Communications Manager
Backing Byker (Newcastle City Council)

Engage Associates are working with Newcastle City Council and Your Homes Newcastle to engage with tenants about a proposal that would involve the housing stock in Byker being transferred into Community Housing Trust. Engage contacted us about the development of a new website, which would be used to assist them with the consultation process and as a way of informing tenants and residents about the proposals and encouraging them to get involved.
CK Services were more than happy to help, providing the following services:
- Build of the website to W3C standards-compliant, and which met Accessibility guidelines
- Build a website which was 100% content-managed
- Provide the ability to easily publish latest news, details of events and provide documents for dowload
- Provide training on the use of the Content Management System (MODx CMS), and on-going telephone and e-mail support services where required.
“The website has given us the platform to keep residents in Byker up to date with the developments in our project, quickly and efficiently. It is also become widely known as the place to go for information and resources in relation to the project.”
Jen Robson – Senior Communications Advisor, Area Based Regeneration, Newcastle City Council
Active Edge

Active Edge is a paragliding and paramotoring school based in the Yorkshire Dales.
They wanted a website which would a) build on the success of their previous site; b) provide them with an easy-to-manage on-line shop, for buying goods and paragliding lessons/courses; and c) reflect the exciting nature of the sport through the graphic design of the site.
We provided them a website which exceeded their expectations. The website has also resulted in a 20% increase in sales of equipment and courses, and receives over 600 unique visits per month on average.
